Semi Permanent Makeup

Semi Permanent Makeup. What's that?

Semi Permanent Makeup or Micropigmentation is a safe and completely controlled method which works by gently depositing cosmetic pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. It is putting the right color in the right place, so you can look better naturally. Specialized instruments allow to place color into the layer of skin known as the dermis. When a procedure is completed, the color will flake off during the healing process, lightening the overall effect. Everybody who wants to look great 24 hours a day, have active lifestyles or who prefer to wakeup ready to go will love this procedure.

What is Microblading (Semi permanent, Eyebrow Embroidery, Brow Resurrection) method?

Microblading (or eyebrow embroidery) is a relatively new, manual method. It is considered to be semi-permanent, as compared to the traditional hairstroke technique. It is done using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the epidermis. Because we’re impacting color closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine. There is no “spilling” under the skin.

• Eyebrow microblading is ideal method for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows. The results are natural looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present.  People suffering from alopecia, trichotillomania or any other condition that causes hair loss benefit greatly from Microblading, as well as people who simply aren’t happy with their eyebrows.

The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your original eyebrow color, and if the eyebrows are still present, blend perfectly into them. The results are a natural, flawless, fuller looking brow. Initially, the brows appear darker, but fade significantly over a two week period. It is absolutely crucial to have a touch up done, as it is very difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment.

The results can last anywhere from  1 to 3 years, depending on different factors affecting the procedure. However, a touch up once a year is recommended to retain the shape and saturation of pigment.

Microblading Aftercare Advice

You may expect the following symptoms

• Redness, swelling and tenderness in the cheek area.

• Dryness and itchiness. These symptoms are a normal part of the healing process

• Ice packs protected with fabric may be applied as necessary to reduce the mild swelling.

Apply a healing balm 3-5 times a day, using a cotton bud to prevent infection, moisturise and protect the skin.

• Do not expose treated area to the sun. (Sun exposure during the first week will lead to heat blisters on the lips, which will hurt and result in color loss.)

• No makeup should be applied for 72 hours after the procedure.

• Absolutely no picking or scrubbing, this could cause pigment loss, scarring, and delayed healing. Do not pick at the epithelial crust; allow it to flake off on its own.

• Avoid touching your procedure area. This can transmit bacteria into the area and lead to an infection.

• After the procedure, lips may appear to have too much color. After 3-4 days; the color will become lighter as the epidermis sloughs off. It will appear that you have lost all your color; however, when your lips have healed completely, the dermal layer will gradually become darker. Lips will not have their full color until 8 weeks of healing.

• Do not soak treated area in bath, swimming pool or hot tub. Do not swim in fresh, salt or chlorinated pool water.

• Do not expose treated area to full pressure of the water in the shower.

Semi Permanent Makeup FAQ

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

Enhancements can last from 1 to3  years depending on factors such as age, life style, exposure to UV light. Follow up appointment must be no sooner than 4 weeks, this allows the skin to completely heal and true colour to show. To maintain the colour intensity of your enhancement, it is recommended to return for a colour boost every 12-24 months. Colour boost takes much less time to complete and are priced accordingly.

DOES IT HURT?

Topical anasthetics are applied to the skin before, and during the procedure to assure you of the most comfortable experience possible. Many clients describe the sensation as a “buzzing” feeling. On a scale of 1-10, most rate the discomfort between 0-3.

HOW WILL I LOOK IMMEDIATELY AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Immediately after procedure your colour will appear darker 40% and more intense, but will lighten with the healing process. Mild redness or swelling may occur for the first couple of days depending on the area treated; however normal activity can be resumed immediately following the procedure.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECOVER?

Generally, the colour will be most visible for the first three days. You may also experience light to moderate swelling, especially with eyeliner and lip procedures. After the initial three days, the healing skin will begin to gently flake off and the treated area will lighten. In many cases it may be too light so as my guarantee to achieve the best possible results for you, 4-6 weeks after your initial treatment will offer a second treatment.

WHAT ABOUT HEALTH AND SAFETY?

The applicators used during the procedure are sterile, individually packaged and intended for one time use only. This is always demonstrated to clients.
